Considering Submitting to Publications Again

Debating whether it’s worth the effort or if I should self-publish

After about nine months away from Medium, I did a publication inventory. Starting with those where the editor added me as a writer, I checked the page for each one to see the publish dates of their most recent articles. Some stated they were closed.

These were still active in October 2023. Before I submit to any of them in 2024, I’ll check the dates of their most recent articles.

Since I prefer to dispense with images and because I prefer to write short pieces, I decided to settle for self-publishing. This decision made sense for my 7-part series since I wanted them published in order through the first week of January 2024. A terrific start to my writing year!

I completed my first draft of an article on dehydration. I put considerably more effort into this one, so I’d like more eyes on it. I have 640 followers, but more reads would only be possible…
