“I was flabbergasted when I heard about your accident, Nina! When did it happen?”
“I was brought in two days ago.”
“How are you feeling today?”
“I get these horrible headaches and I don’t remember anything but this place.”
“Has anyone else visited you yet?”
“This guy who says he’s my brother has been coming every night.”
“You don’t believe he’s really your brother?”
“Guess he might be. He’s not my husband, that’s for sure!”
“Really? Why not?”
“I’ve lost my memory but not my eyesight. He’s creepy!!!”
“Eeew! Not great husband material!”
“I wouldn’t marry someone like that unless he was absolutely loaded!”
“Maybe he IS rich.”
“Then he hides it really well. So who are you?”
“I’m Leah. We went to Nursing School together. You really don’t remember me?”
“No, I don’t.”
“I guess you got your wish then.”
“What wish?”
“You’ve probably been wanting to forget me ever since that fiasco with Kevin.”
“Kevin?”
“Someone we’d both have been better off never meeting. He was attractive in an unusual kind of way and seemed to have this aura of power and mystery.”
“You dated him?”
“No, I was living with Brad by then. He introduced Kevin to us. You two really hit it off at first.”
