How often you publish new content depends entirely on your goals. I’ve just started my second month on Medium and I wrote only two stories for Medium alone. I’ve probably responded to about 50 other stories and imported about 6 or 8 posts from my blog.

You’ll probably laugh, but I was excited to get a notice from Medium that I earned $0.01. I’m serious. I got excited about 1 cent. It’s not the amount; it’s what it means. I can write and be seen by a few. Later it will be more because I’ll write more. I don’t plan to make a fortune so I won’t be publishing 4 times a week, much less 4 times a day. I’m going to keep commenting, though. I’m not sure how differently Medium treats a long comment vs a brief article.

I’m not sure what will be comfortable for me. This is a hobby, not even a side-hustle. If I earn enough this year to cover my Medium subscription, that will be beyond my expectations. I’m not “dreaming big”. I don’t need to.
