I have a vision impairment and carry an identity cane when I walk alone. I *never* jaywalk and always wait for the "Walk" light before I start crossing a street.

Even so, there have been close calls. If the car is close enough to me when it's turning that I can thump the hood with my fist, it's TOO CLOSE! So far, I've resisted the temptation to smack the car with my cane.

I'll stick to my treadmill!
