I heard of both NewsBreak and Vocal about 6 months into my Medium journey. Neither tempted me for the same reason it didn't tempt you. Medium is my favourite reading platform. As for Quora, my gripe with them is that their mobile platform is utterly useless for someone with a vision impairment on both Android and Apple. If I was doing this for money, I'd have been a far more prolific writer. In all but last month, I've never earned more than $5 per month.

I have limited time and energy for writing. Why would I invest any of that anywhere but with Medium. I know I should have another blog somewhere but I really don't feel the least motivation to learn everything required to make a website work. If Medium dies, I may just stop writing publicly altogether. Medium will change in many ways, but I seriously doubt it's going to disappear.
