I must be old-fashioned. I'd much rather soak in a tub with a novel than scroll through social media. If I watch educational videos, I'm usually knitting at the same time. I can create garter stitch squares without looking except to go to the next row. If I'm just listening, or the video doesn't require me to actually watch what's going on, I'll be crocheting, designing colourful squares with fun stitch patterns. I keep telling myself I'll get back to playing the piano, but writing and expanding my chess skills is taking priority right now. I usually pair up my daily treadmill walk with one of the several podcasts I'm subscribed to.
I struggle with over-saturation of information, maybe even information addiction. I find it hard to do something without filling my mind. True leisure for me would be silence while I crochet or playing scales and arpeggios that require little mental effort. My mind needs to be less crammed full and to have a bit of open space for thoughts to move and bounce against each other.
