I study and play chess, but I don't compete. I find joy in learning new patterns. When I play online, it's always with higher rated players and I "lose to learn". Success is when I solve a puzzle correctly or convert some knowledge into skill.

I play the keyboard, not songs, just chord progressions and rhythm patterns. Success is when I can get my hands to do two different things at the same time.
