I wish I learned how to do critical thinking in school--but they don't teach that. When I encounter opposing views on something, I'm not averse to looking things up. I just have a hard time understanding what I read if it's too "academic", too scientific, or too far outside my rather limited sphere of knowledge. A perfect example is whether or not vaccines are safe. I have a college education in accounting and I enjoy learning. It's just that some stuff is over my head.
