If I understand correctly, "tilting" is getting frustrated at losing online chess games and being overly attached to rating points. If I missed some element of what tilting is, please let me know. The closest I've come to rating is seeing the rating while playing Dr. Wolf who's given me a 595 rating (based on chess.com Blitz scale). The number tells me that I'm improving since my first rating was around 560 six months ago.

I have no idea what my ELO rating is and really don't care. To avoid the tilting, I probably will play only casual games on Lichess rather than rated ones. I read an article that explains the expected skills at various levels and that's interesting to me. I can assess what my current skills and weaknesses are, then use that knowledge to build a study, practice and learning strategy.

My guess is that having this attitude will keep me from ever tilting. I've never cared if I won or not. Learning how to use analysis tools is my next step. Thanks for this article.
