I'm too new to Medium to know what things were like before. I attribute the 130 followers I have since joining in Sept 2020 to doing a lot of commenting on other articles (200+).

From what I've been reading, Medium is in a state of flux. Kind of like a tsunami swept through the platform. It might take till this coming September to settle down to a new normal. Who knows what THAT will look like!
