It's part of being human that what we have and who we are is never enough. We suffer from the chronic dis-ease of "more". We want more beauty, more money which we expect will lead to more power, more influence, and more power over our lives.

Because we're predisposed to see ourselves as not _____ enough, we have an internal bias toward giving more weight to criticism than to compliments. Add to that the fact that many of us have heard far more criticism growing up from parents and peers growing up.
