I’ve been doing some form of BJ for several years. I discovered that tracking activities or habits doesn’t work for me. I manage 2 or 3 days and forget then abandon the effort – the effort to track the thing, not to do the thing.

I thought about tracking word-count but I do as much writing with pen and paper as with some digital tool. So how would I track the word count for the analog part? I’m not writing a novel or any big project. I’m still trying to figure out what my writing process is.

For a long time, I didn’t write anything daily in my BJ since I got tired of migrating tasks. I always write down more than I actually can do because I can’t decide which is most important. I usually end up doing what’s quickest and easiest, requiring next to no focus because I don’t know when I’ll get interrupted and my focus will be stolen from me.
