I've come across this conspiracy mental model in some friends and find it deeply disturbing. There's a big difference between hearing and listening. Since I'm far from perfect at doing all that Jesus said to do, I'm in no place to judge how well anyone else is following Our Lord.

The problem with the whole rapture thing is that people expect to escape tribulation and suffering. If Jesus who was completely sinless suffered so much, why would we as His Bride expect to avoid it when a bride is expected to resemble and share in the experience of her Bridegroom?
