Linux is great if you have the expertise to solve the problems that crop up or if you have access to the help you need. For the vast majority of users, Windows is the best option. I just started using Windows 11 and there are plenty of settings to protect your privacy. If I run into problems with Windows that I can't figure out how to solve, I can call the Best Buy Geek Squad (we pay for a subscription) and they'll help me remotely. With Linux, I couldn't get help that made any sense to me.
