Eating what I want when I want doesn’t lead to me weighing what I want. — Barb Raveling

I’ve lost over 30 pounds twice, first in 2002 and again in 2018. I used Weight Watchers both times. From the day I started in 2002 at 175 lbs, I started tracking my food. I continued doing this until the summer of 2007. My biggest regret is quitting the daily recording of my food intake. I did it faithfully for five years, and I’ve never since been able to maintain that habit long-term.

By 2008, my weight started creeping up. By 2018, my scale again read 171 lbs. so I returned to Weight Watchers. This time, I lost the weight in eight months instead of the eighteen months it took me to reach my goal weight in 2002. But I still regained 20 of the 30 pounds before four years passed.

In 2022, I was once again motivated to lose weight. I’m so grateful to have come across the Taste for Truth podcast and Barb Raveling’s resources. I learned how to renew my mind and realized that I need to observe lifetime boundaries with food. I’ll explain renewing the mind and provide examples in more detail in later articles. For now, check out Barb Raveling’s site, books, and YouTube channel.
