My first encounter with Medium was from doing research for my blog. I’d run out of free stories and just shrug, then move on. About a month ago, I decided to buy a subscription and I have no regrets.

I was never inclined to comment on blog posts before. I’m sure making up for it now. The quality of content on this platform is superb. After 3 weeks, I’ve got 600+ stories saved and 50 on a list to comment on later.

It was encouraging to see that the work we do really can pay off. We need patience with the learning curve and with ourselves. Not the passive sort of patience that I struggle with, but more of an active waiting. You kept writing AND you kept returning to the article. The best part was your willingness to detach from what wasn’t working.

I write because I can’t imagine doing anything else. The key is to keep it about the reader. We write what interests us or it won’t interest the reader either.
