describes the differences between chess.com/ and Lichess.
I invested in the Gold level on chess.com/ and will continue until I lose interest in chess. I find the forced darker colour themes on chess.com/ very unappealing. Not even the brightest available one compares to Lichess.
I sent a feature suggestion to chess.com/ concerning the way they display the black pieces taken by the opponent. No matter which theme I try, they’re virtually invisible to me, even with a magnifying glass. I like the interactive lessons and the way the daily games are organized, especially the “Notes” feature. Playing a bot is useful when I might get interrupted. There are quite a few options on chess.com/ where Lichess only offers the different levels of Stockfish.
I noticed that the laptop browser offers more features than I can access on my tablet. I wrote about this in Lichess Is Light Years Better In Browser Than On App. A member of our chess club suggested I try the Learn From Your Game feature on Lichess that lets you look at your blunders from a puzzle viewpoint. After practicing this, I wrote instructions for it.
