Why not create your own challenge – hard enough to push you without all the valud disadvantages you mention. Something with fewer words per day over a number of weeks intead of a month. Also incorporate edit days where you commit to a number of drafts to edit.

Once you plan out the parameters of your challenge, then share it with the rest of the Medium community and invite others to join you.
