Writing on Medium has never been about income for me. It's about having what I write look good with relative ease because the Medium editor makes any article appealing to look at on any platform. I don't have to worry about coding and all the stuff that goes into blogging anywhere else. I've been here for 14 months and have 300 followers, mostly because I read and respond to a lot of Medium stories.

A year on my Wordpress blog got me about 12 followers. My average income per month is about $3.50. My first month was exactly one penny and I was happy to even get that because it meant somebody read what I wrote. I no longer felt invisible.
