Yesterday, my friend asked me what my "word" was for 2024. I must live in a cave. I've never heard of this custom of choosing a word for the year. I've no idea where or when it originated.

What came to mind was "transformation". The only problem is that's too big a word for a year, or even a decade. That's a word for the rest of my life.
