You can write a LOT of words. But how does writing them, in itself, teach you anything? How do you know if you've made mistakes? Even if you notice mistakes (not grammar/punctuation), how do you know how to fix them?

Something more than the mere writing of words is needed. Exactly what that "something" is, I'm not sure.
